Enlace is an architecture studio based in Caracas Venezuela that is engaged in research, publication, design and the development of architectural projects.
As a professional practice enlace strives to create relationships and connections between interested entities that can generate new opportunities for architecture. The office has won several architecture competitions including first prize in the Competition for the Rehabilitation of Sabana Grande Boulevard in Caracas and first prize in the Competition Metropolitan Park Maracay together with Inés Casanova and Enrique Blanco.
Enlace collaborates with multilateral entities, non-profit organizations, institutions and construction companies on various projects related to slum upgrading, urban development and sustainable architecture. Professionals of diverse backgrounds contribute complementary knowledge and abilities to these projects furthering their relevance and effectiveness.
Elisa Silva, Principal
Elisa is a registered architect and LEED AP with a Master of Architecture Degree from the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University 2002 and a Bachelors of Arts from Emory University 1998. She has collaborated in the studios of Rafael Moneo, SOM.NY, and Office dA. Between 2005 and 2006 she was the recipient of the Founders Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome where she analyzed distortions in 17th perspective drawings of Rome by Giovanni Battista Falda. She has won several architecture competitions including first prize in the Maracay Metropolitan Park, first prize in the Rehabilitation of Sabana Grande Boulevard in Caracas Venezuela and first prize in La Manufacture des Paysages Villeneuvette, France. Her work has been exhibited in Milan, Rome and Caracas.
In 2010 she participated in the XIII Fia Young Artists Salon and her work was awarded honorary mention. In 2011, she received the Wheelwright Traveling Fellowship from Harvard University to investigate recent successful slum upgrading processes in various cities in Latin America.
Elisa has taught design studio at Northeastern University, AIRC in Rome, the Universidad Central de Venezuela, the Universidad Simón Bolívar and the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas.
She is founding member of the Fundación Espacio 2007, a nonprofit organization focused on stimulating the level of discourse on architecture in Venezuela through lectures, exhibitions and publications.www.espacio.net.ve
